We have been going to Sun Peaks Resort ever since I was six weeks old and it is definitely a family favourite! Unfortunately, last year we were not able to go due to COVID-19 but this year totally made up for it!!!

Getting to Sun Peaks Resort

From Vancouver, Sun Peaks Resort is approximately a four hour drive, which I felt was SO long and I got carsick about 2 ½ hours through and felt so relieved when we finally arrived at the hotel.

The Accommodations

My family stayed in the Residences at Sun Peaks Grand. Our suite had one bedroom and den (no windows or closet in the den, but a nice big bed and of course a TV!), two bathrooms, a washer and a dryer and a small kitchen amongst other things. I would rate it 4 out of 5. (5 being the best and 1 being the worst!)

Here is the view from our suite, it was spectacular!

Our suite was in the turret tower.

The Slopes

The skiing was pretty good, but the weather was another story… On our second and third day, it was like a snowy desert with snow blowing in the wind and freezing our faces until they were ice cubes!

Bone chilling wind – where’s Mel? Can you find my face?

The Chairlifts

The chairlifts were also pretty good but some of them didn’t slow down, which made it a bit tricky to get on and off.

Yummy Eats!

The Annex is an amazing cafeteria filled with varying snacks, lunches and drinks. My favourite treat at the Annex is their world famous cinnamon rolls! They are gooey, sweet and full of rich flavour! I would highly recommend this tasty treat when visiting Sun Peaks – it’s definitely a cannot-miss delicacy!

I would return to Sun Peaks again!!!!! Although the weather was sketchy for the end of March (not really Spring skiing!) and my mom kept on falling off her snowboard, Sun Peaks still remains my #1 favorite mountain.
