We had a great time at Sun Peaks last year and I am happy to say that we are back again with another blog post and some new activities that we tried! So sit back, relax, and let me take you to a glittering, snowy mountain!

Sun Peaks Grand Hotel

During our trip, we stayed at the residence at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. We also went to Sun Peaks with our very good friends but they stayed at the Cahilty Hotel which was actually built with Olympic freestyle skier Nancy Greene!

The Swimming Pool & Hot Tubs

The Sun Peaks Grand Hotel has one big swimming pool and three hot tubs. The swimming pool also has a sort of tunnel that leads into the change room. The pool is usually warm but on the first day we went it was very cold! I don’t have much to say about the hot tubs because they were nice and hot although a lot of kids were yelling and it wasn’t very pleasant. Other than that, I think that the pool and hot tubs were very fun and relaxing and I would definitely go again!

Park Posse Terrain Park Lesson

With my friend I took terrain park ski lessons and we learnt a lot about how to land properly on jumps, how to do proper grabs, how to get onto plastic boxes and much more!

Skating Rink

One night, my friend and I went to the outdoor covered ice rink for stick and puck session. The skating rink is a short walk from our hotel – the Sun Peaks Grand. It was a nice, cool evening so it was perfect weather for skating. Even though the ice was slightly bumpy, I would definitely recommend going here for a casual evening of fun with friends.

The Annex

The Annex is a welcoming café that supplies delicious snacks, drinks and sandwiches. A tradition with my family is that whenever we go to Sun Peaks we always buy a giant cinnamon roll!

Capones Italian Kitchen

On our last night we visited an Italian restaurant called Capones. Capones had great food but the service was a bit slow because there were lots of people there but the food was still very good and I would recommend this restaurant.

We have been going to Sun Peaks forever (basically since I was 6 weeks old) but this is a visit I will never forget. Even after all these years, Sun Peaks will always be one of my favourite mountains to visit! I certainly recommend visiting Sun Peaks whatever your interests are because it has something for everyone!
