Day 7: Tobermory & Flowerpot Island

On this beautiful day, we drove to Tobermory, which has a lot of cool little shops and a marina. We took a glass bottom boat from Tobermory to Flowerpot Island. Flowerpot Island is a small island that has some amazing rock formations that make the “Little Flowerpot” and “Big Flowerpot”. We also did a hike around the island and saw some caves which were really interesting. I really liked Flowerpot Island and we had some fabulous weather but it was very hot so we had to cool off in the lake. This island is pretty fun so I would recommend going for the day.

Did you know that Tobermory  has twin harbours, known locally as “Big Tub” and “Little Tub” and Big Tub Harbour is Canada’s largest natural freshwater harbour. Tobermory is typically a few degrees colder than Toronto.

Lion’s Head

We also stayed at Lion’s Head which is a small town that has many bed & breakfasts! We stayed at a very nice B&B called Taylor Made B&B and it was a very interesting experience. I would totally stay there again.

Did you know that the town is named after the resemblance of a lion’s profile in the rock formation of the Niagara Escarpment and the first post office opened in 1895.

Day 8: Driving to Niagara Falls

This was another driving day so got all packed up and drove to Niagara Falls. On the way there, we stopped at Guelph University for an hour because my mom went there for University and we walked around the campus a bit. Then, we got back on the road and drove approximately 2 hours to Niagara Falls. We also drove up Clifton Hill and got a glimpse of the actual falls.
